Liberty Rent (“us,” “we,” or “our,”) operates the website www.LibertyRent.com (the “Site”). We assist in the approval process for applicants of residential leases, which also protects the property owner against potential rent revenue loss (“the Services”). This Privacy Policy explains why we gather information from you, what information we collect, how we collect, use and protect it, and with whom we share it.  

In this Policy, we refer to “Personal Information,” meaning data that identifies an individual or can do so when combined with other data. Personal Information is usually your name in combination with another identifier, such as date of birth, postal address, email address, telephone number, or government-issued identification number. Personal Information does not include anonymous or aggregated data that can no longer be used to identify a specific person, even if combined with other data. The specific definition of Personal Information varies from one jurisdiction to another. 

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time, so please check this page occasionally to review any changes in our practices. By using the Site, you agree to be bound by the Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. 

Information Collected Directly from You 

When you use our Site or Services, we may collect Personal Information directly from you, including but not limited to name, current and past postal addresses, email address, phone number, your current employer and job title, income information and other details needed for processing of your inquiry.  Applicants seeking Liberty Rent’s assistance in procuring a lease will establish an account and password. 

Information Collected Automatically 

To provide you with our Services, complete your requests and maintain and improve our Site, we may automatically collect certain information when you visit or navigate the Site (“usage data”), which could include IP address, device ID, browser setting, operating system, referring domain, language preferences, mobile carrier and website activity. We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to gather information about your use of our Site and to customize your experience.  

Cookies are small data files that help us keep track of your usage of the Site. Some cookies only last for the session you are on the Site. Other cookies persist beyond that session, so, for example, you do not have to reenter contact information or items in your cart. We use cookies to transact with you, gather navigation information, enhance and personalize your experience, analyze usage patterns, and improve our Site, products and Services. Tracking Technologies 

We may use tracking technologies to automatically collect information when you visit certain pages on our Site. These technologies usually track advertising preferences from site to site, and to gather data about users’ browsing habits to improve the user experience. Our Use of the Information 

We use your Personal Information for a variety of purposes related to our business, including but not limited to: 

  • Providing and maintaining the Services and the Site. Collecting your Personal Information allows us to provide the Services, maintain and improve the Site, and monitor the usage of our Site to detect, prevent and address technical issues.

We collect your personal contact information, such as name, email and phone number, via form submissions for the purposes of responding to specific inquiries and communicating with you about the Services. We may also use your Personal Information to contact you with content, upcoming events, new services and other information that may be of interest to you. 
  • Evaluating potential business relationships. For representatives of business entities, we collect information about your company and its needs via form submissions for the purpose of determining whether your company could benefit from our services and analyzing our marketing efforts. 
  • Complying with legal obligations. We share information as required or appropriate to comply with the law or a legal proceeding, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

If you provide us with your Personal Information per this Privacy Policy, we may correlate the Personal Information you provide with previously obtained, anonymous site usage data. We may also correlate, store and analyze other publicly available data related to the email address you provided us, such as the name, industry, or size of the Company associated with it, so we can better understand our Site visitors and the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. 

Sharing of information 

We do not sell or share your Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 

We may share your Personal Information when:  

  • You request or authorize us to share it. 
  • Our employees need it to help us provide the Services or to perform functions on our behalf. Employees have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.  
  • As part of reorganization or a sale of the assets of Liberty Rent. Any third party to which Liberty Rent transfers or sells, will have the right to continue to use the personal and other information that you provide to us. In the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, your Personal Information may also be transferred as a business asset. 
  • To comply with the law (e.g., a search warrant, subpoena or court order), to enforce an agreement we have with you; to protect our rights, property or safety, or the rights, property or safety of our employees or others; or to address emergencies or acts of God. 
  • To address disputes, claims, or to persons demonstrating legal authority to act on your behalf.  We may also gather aggregated data about our users and disclose the results of such aggregated (but not Personal Information) to our partners, service providers, advertisers and/or other third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. 

We may also share non-individual information in the aggregate, regarding your online browsing preferences to evaluate our services or allow the service providers with whom we work with to better serve our users. We will not share Personal Information in these instances, other than as described in this Privacy Notice.  

Retention and security of information  

We will not keep your Personal Information for any longer than is necessary for the purposes we collected it. To protect your Personal Information, we maintain a variety of security measures, including administrative, physical and technical safeguards. No system can be completely secure, so we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your Personal Information or other communications will always remain secure. 

Any Password for our Site (or app, if any) will be the exclusive property and confidential information of Liberty Rent and may be used by you solely for your individual use of the Site and Services. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any Password. All activities that occur using your Password are your responsibility, whether you authorized them or not. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your Password or accounts. 

Your privacy rights and choices 

A number of states, including Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, may provide their residents with certain privacy rights.  

For example, residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Montana, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Virginia (and other states) may have the right to request: 

  • Whether we are processing your Personal Information. 
  • A copy of your Personal Information 
  • Correction of your Personal Information that is inaccurate. 
  • Deletion of your Personal Information. 
  • Opt out of the processing of your Personal Information if used for targeted advertising. 

 Oregon residents may request a list of the third parties with whom we share Personal Information. 

We collect Personal Information that may be considered “sensitive” and subject to laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Montana, Oregon, Texas, Utah or Virginia, including but not limited to, information regarding your citizenship or citizenship status.   

We do not use Personal Information for profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for a consumer. 

Under the Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A, we do not currently engage in the “sale” of Personal Information.

Marketing Communications 

You have the right to opt-out of marketing and consumer research communications we send you.  

If you no longer want to receive marketing or research-related emails from us, you can opt-out of these communications from us at any time by following the unsubscribe link or instructions provided in any email we send, or by contacting us directly. Please be aware that you will continue to receive certain communications from us that are necessary for our Services. If you are having difficulty unsubscribing from our marketing emails using the above method, please contact us directly by email at help@libertyrent.com with “Privacy” in the subject line.  

How is User Information Protected? 

We make reasonable efforts to maintain administrative, physical, and technical safeguards for all Personal Information collected in our System, designed to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure, we cannot make any guarantees as to the security or privacy of your Personal Information. 

We retain data collected from you only for as long as is necessary to complete the purpose for which it was collected.

If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers and third-party systems.
